we need the gender transition/minors act.

“Through trans ideology I was deemed able to consent to have my breasts chopped off at 16, but to this day I’m still not old enough to walk into a store and buy a can of beer.” —Luka “Bunny” Hein

Luka “Bunny” Hein was a young teen when she became confused about her gender. Presented as the only way to “fix things.” doctors advised the young girl to transition to a male. At 16, doctors removed both breasts and prescribed hormone treatments. At 20 years old, she regretted the decision and de- transitioned back to her original gender. She told the news she was on drugs for depression and anxiety when she made the decision and doctors ignored her mental health issue while pushing her into transitioning.

The “Gender Transition/Minors Act (S639, H808) would prohibit attempting to surgically or hormonally change the biological sex of any individual under the age of 18. Children and teens will still be able to socially and mentally transition to the opposite sex.

Dear Neighbor,

Recently, the numbers of children and teens who experience gender dysphoria and the specialized centers that treat them with experimental procedures have dramatically increased. Researchers believe the increase is due to social acceptance of individuals identifying as transgender and social media normalizing the dysphoria. A 2021 study indicated that 58% of those surveyed believed their gender dysphoria was caused by trauma or a mental health condition. Studies indicate that for the majority of children (84.2%) the Gender Dysphoria desisted. It is simply unethical and irresponsible for those trained to provide medical care to perform chemical and physical interventions—some irreversible—that almost always put a child on the path to transgender identity.

If you believe we should protect youth health from radical ideologies, would you consider using this handy tool to contact NC officials and ask them to OVERRIDE Governor Cooper’s VETO of the “Gender Transition/Minors” Act (S639, H808)?
