NC VALUES COALITION RELEASES STATEMENT ON GOVERNOR COOPER’S EXECUTIVE ORDER REGARDING ABORTION
Executive Director of North Carolina Values Coalition Tami Fitzgerald made a statement today regarding Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order regarding abortion:
“Today’s Executive Order was an election year stunt, contrived to scare women into thinking there is a problem to solve. North Carolina abortion laws have not changed since Roe vs. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, and this is just Governor Cooper’s virtue signaling to the abortion industry which is nervous about a predicted veto-proof majority come November. North Carolina has the opportunity to protect unborn babies and their mothers from the desolation of abortion. Life is a human right, and the voters in North Carolina will have the opportunity to speak on this issue without the oppressive executive actions of Governor Cooper.
“Many women are bullied into abortions by the baby’s father, a parent, or even human traffickers, and statistics show a correlation between women who have abortions and low income. Instead of issuing orders, the Governor should be helping women who are right now in crisis by providing them with the resources they need to be successful and to confidently choose life.”
