NC VALUES HAS ENDORSED MICHELE MORROW FOR NORTH CAROLINA’S STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

NC Values Coalition has endorsed Michele Morrow for North Carolina’s State Superintendent of Schools.

“For years Michele Morrow has been involved at the legislature and in her community to improve education. A mother of five, Michele’s children have been educated in public, private and homeschool settings which gives her unique insight on how to approach problems and solutions for North Carolina public schools,” said NC Values Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald. “Michele’s mission to take politics out of schools, create a safer environment for teachers and students, and improve test scores is exactly what North Carolina needs, not a far-left candidate who doesn’t represent the values of our state.”

Morrow served as a Spanish speaking Christian missionary in Mexico where three of her children were born. She spent four years teaching English and leading Bible Study during her mission. Morrow was also a foster parent and homeschool teacher for various subjects to senior level students. As a homeschool parent to five children and classroom teacher, she was tasked with exploring curriculums to meet the needs of different learners, which has given her a passion for ensuring every child is given opportunities despite their learning differences.

Besides her direct experience in a variety of educational settings, outside of the classroom Morrow has been an advocate for public education, protecting opportunities and safety of girls, parental rights, improving public school outcomes and school choice. As a nurse, Michele testified at the General Assembly about protecting children’s physical, emotional and mental health along with many other issues impacting children and families.

Said Fitzgerald, “Through her experience and service to others, Michele Morrow has demonstrated her commitment and ability to turn North Carolina schools around. She will use her platform and influence to advocate for a strong academic focus in public school classrooms, free from political agendas, that will equip and prepare students for the job market or higher education. We need brave leaders and strong voices like Michele Morrow.”
