RESTORATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS IN NC SCHOOLS ONE STEP CLOSER AS SENATE’S PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS PASSES

NC Values Coalition released a statement from Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald on the passing of SB 49, The Parents Bill of Rights:

“Teachers and school administrators should not betray parents’ trust by hiding information or indoctrinating students with ideas directly contrary to their family’s beliefs. Public schools have a responsibility and duty to be transparent about what they are teaching children and to respect parents’ wishes when it comes to divisive and potentially harmful issues including gender ideology. Parents have a fundamental right to oversee the education and upbringing of their children, and today is an important step in the restoration of those God-given rights to their rightful owners—parents. I’d like to thank Senators Amy Galey, Lisa Barnes and Mike Lee for sponsoring this bill, and we look forward to the House’s response to the Senate legislation.”
