Tomorrow, four key pro-values bills face important committee votes in the NC House—and we need your help!

Votes are scheduled in the Health Committee (HB 139 and HB 560) and in the Judiciary 2 Committee (HB 519 and HB 606). As we work hard to advance nine critical pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious freedom bills, now is the time for legislators to hear directly from their constituents.

Here’s a quick look at the bills under consideration:

Parents Protection Act
(HB 560/SB 442)

This essential bill shields parents from losing custody of their children simply for raising their child consistent with their biological sex and refusing to affirm their child’s harmful gender identity. It reinforces a parent’s fundamental right to make medical decisions aligned with their beliefs and their child’s best interests. The bill also prohibits making prospective parents’ affirmation of gender identity a litmus test for adoption or foster care.

Parents Medical Bill of Rights / Minors Health Protection Act
(HB 519/SB 759)

This bill aims to restore parental authority in North Carolina by requiring parental consent for minors to receive diagnosis, treatment, or prevention for sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, and emotional disturbances, as well as prevention of pregnancy. The bills also require medical providers allow parents access to all medical records for their minor children.

Newborn Safety Devices Act
(HB 139/SB 91)

This life-saving bill expands North Carolina’s Safe Surrender Law by allowing anonymous infant surrender through baby boxes. It ensures that desperate mothers have a safe, anonymous option to protect their babies from abandonment.

Civil Procedure Amendment

(HB 606)

The Civil Procedure Amendment would extend the statute of limitations for medical malpractice while facilitating or perpetuating gender transition. The bill will ensure that those permanently harmed by medical gender transition—like Prisha Mosley—can hold the medical industry accountable.

We need you to take one or two important actions to help us advance these bills through committee (and ultimately the full House and Senate):

1) Help us virtually!

Take just a couple of minutes to use our easy click-to-contact tool to message your legislator and urge them to support these bills: ncvalues.org/legislation (you can also click the linked bill names above).

2) Help us physically by showing up!

Join us this Wednesday for our annual Legislative Day of Action at the NC General Assembly! We’ll gather at 9:00am in front of the Legislative Building (16 W Jones St., Raleigh, NC), with a press conference kicking off at 9:30am. If you care about advancing life, family, and freedom in North Carolina, we need you there! Learn more at ncvalues.org/action or email Corrie at [email protected].

Let’s keep fighting together to make North Carolina a place where pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious freedom values thrive!

Sincerely,

Tami & Team
