1. NC VALUES: 🎄 Merry Christmas!

We wanted to wish you a very merry and gratitude filled Christmas!

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

2. NC VALUES: Give the gift of life!

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support for NC Values and the Institute for Faith & Family! Because of your prayers, financial support, and investment in our work, we’ve accomplished a lot this year, but we have more work to do!

This Advent season, as we celebrate the birth of Christ, who came to earth as a tiny infant to rescue us from sin and death, it is fitting that we have the opportunity to protect innocent unborn babies in America from the scourge of abortion. We have an uphill battle in front of us in North Carolina. However, NC Values is here to lead the way to making North Carolina pro-life once again. We commit to doing everything in our power to make sure that happens!

If you haven’t given yet this year to the work of the NC Values Coalition, I urge you to consider making a donation today. The year is almost over, and we’re already preparing for next year’s work. We need your continued support to be able to fight for the values we all hold foremost in our lives—pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious liberty—so that our combined efforts result in the worship of almighty God through our public witness.

3. FOX NEWS: De-transitioning becomes growing choice among young people after gender-affirming surgery

“Now at 25, Becker said she regrets the decision to transition and has started the process to return to her original gender.

‘The surgery is the biggest regret,’ she told Fox News.

‘Parts of my body that I had never even really gotten a chance to appreciate or understand or respect or use … I’ll never be able to experience, sort of, that intact female form.’”

4. WSJ EDITORIAL BOARD: Opinion | A Judicial Coup in North Carolina

“Democrats claim the U.S. Supreme Court will subvert democracy if it overrules a North Carolina decision on legislative gerrymandering. But an extraordinary ruling Friday by the North Carolina Supreme Court shows why such U.S. judicial intervention is warranted.
Four Democratic Justices struck down the GOP Legislature’s state Senate map and voter ID requirement—two weeks before the judges are set to lose their majority. The 4-3 Democratic majority has repeatedly overruled the GOP Legislature in election cases. Its ruling to overturn the Congressional map produced Moore v. Harper, the gerrymander case the U.S. Supreme Court heard this month.”

5. ADF: Phillips v. North Carolina Department of Public Instruction

“North Carolina Governor’s School fired a well-respected English professor, Dr. David Phillips, after he spoke out about the harms of the racially divisive ideology embraced by the school. For years, Dr. Phillips had spoken out against the school’s increasing adoption of critical theory, an ideology that views everyone and everything through the lens of characteristics like race, sex, and religion, labeling people as perpetual oppressors or victims based on group membership alone. After Dr. Phillips delivered three optional seminars critiquing critical theory and the increasing bias and lack of viewpoint diversity in higher education, North Carolina public school officials fired him mid-session without any explanation.”

Weekly Prayer: Christmas

“Almighty Father, eternal God, for us you sent your Son and let him suffer the pain of the cross, that he might drive away from us all the terror of the evil foe. Move us to joyfully give thanks for his suffering through which we have received forgiveness of sins and redemption from eternal death; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.”

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
