1. nc values: state senator harassing pregnancy care centers

Over the past week, we have been receiving messages from pregnancy care centers who received a weird and invasive questionnaire from a public official.

State Senator Gladys Robinson violated NC statutes in a harassing request sent to pregnancy care centers who are members of the NC Pregnancy Care Fellowship. It was an obvious effort to intimidate the organizations from applying for future state funds.

2.ย save the date: 2024 legislative day of action on may 15th

Our annual Legislative Day of Action is on May 15th, 2024. We’ll be meeting at 10am in front of the Legislative Building (16 W Jones St., Raleigh, NC).

We could use your help. Our Legislative Day of Action is one of the opportunities we provide to help you share your voice with your representatives. This year, our legislative effort is focused on strengthening parental rights by: 1) restoring parental medical rights, 2) removing obscene books in schools, and 3) adding civil penalties for violation of SB49.

If those issues are important to you, In addition to joining us for our in-person event, would you consider visiting ncvalues.org/parentsย and signing our petition to strengthen parental rights legislation in North Carolina?

We hope to see you in the capital. If you would like to join us, contact Courtney at [email protected].

Prayer.jpg

weekly prayer: freedom

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienableย right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nationโ€™s Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

โ€œIt was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.โ€ (Galatians 5:1)

โ€œFor you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.โ€ (Galatians 5:13)

โ€œAct as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.โ€ (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen
