NC VALUES RELEASES 2023 LEGISLATIVE SCORECARD

NC Values Coalition released its 2023 Legislative Scorecard, a resource to inform voters on how NC General Assembly members supported and voted on NC Values’ legislative initiatives.

The scores are based on votes for NC Values’ legislative agenda including:

  • SB 20 “Care for Women, Children and Families Act”
  • HB 49 “Parents Bill of Rights”
  • HB 574 “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act”
  • HB 808 “Gender Transition/Minors”
  • HB 823 “Choose Your School, Choose Your Future”
  • HB 259 Budget, which included funding for Pregnancy Care Centers and Universal Opportunity Scholarships

Legislator scores were also based on override votes and bill sponsorship. Some scores were affected by absences on these key votes.  Scores may be accessed at ncvalues.org/scorecard.

The Legislative Scorecard is part of the NC Values’ Voter Toolkit which includes the iVoterGuide survey and endorsements. NC Values will continue to release endorsements throughout the 2024 election cycle.
