WOMAN MEDICALLY TRANSITIONED AS A MINOR IN NC FILES LAWSUIT FOR FRAUD AND MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
NC Values Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald made a statement today regarding the lawsuit filed against North Carolina doctors by Prisha Mosely who was permanently damaged after being medically transitioned as a minor in the state:
“NC Values supports Prisha Mosely’s lawsuit against unethical and greedy doctors who are now facing charges of fraud, malpractice, deceptive trade practices and negligence for lying and manipulating her and her parents into destructive medical gender transitioning. Prisha was told she was a boy and was quickly medicalized without her mental health co-morbidities being addressed. Double mastectomies, penilectomies, and hormones are being given to people with mental illness, who cannot give consent to chemical and surgical castration. Instead of treating the underlying mental illness of gender dysphoria, medical personnel are mutilating vulnerable people, creating patients who will need care for the rest of their lives. This lawsuit highlights the need for legislation protecting minors like Prisha from medical transitioning, and NC Values Coalition has worked hard for several years to pass such legislation. We look forward expectantly to the override of Governor Cooper’s veto of HB 808, which will protect minors from medical activists who prey on mentally ill patients for profit. It’s sad that Governor Cooper stands with medical gender activists instead of vulnerable children.”
