Starting tomorrow, we will be having two important days of action at the NC legislature in support of a heartbeat bill. Rather than leading the nation in the rate of increase in abortions, or becoming the ‘abortion destination of the South,’ North Carolina now has the unique and historical opportunity to pass legislation that saves as many real human babies as possible.

Last week, we shared with you an important number: 26,000. This is the number of unborn lives a piece of legislation like a Heartbeat Act can save by preventing abortions from occurring after a baby’s heartbeat is detected at 6 weeks. In contrast, a bill that protects the unborn only after the end of the first trimester (13 weeks), would only save 4,000. That’s a big difference, and it’s also why we need to send legislators a BIG message in the two upcoming days.

We need your help.

For the legislature to present a bold pro-life bill that will save over 26,000 lives a year, they need to hear from you. A heartbeat bill such as in effect in Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri is what we are asking our legislators to pass. This is a decision that our legislators are deciding right now, and they need to hear from you as soon and frequently as possible! We are talking about saving real lives.

We are having two important Days of Action this Tuesday and Wednesday (February 28th and March 1st). We’re calling on coalition members from all across the state who are able to drive down to Raleigh and join us as we go and visit legislators in person at the General Assembly. Your presence is needed and worthwhile. We’ll provide you with everything you need, so all you need to worry about is joining us for however much time you are able.
