We wanted to share two important updates about our ongoing efforts to protect women and children through HB 805, a commonsense bill that Governor Stein recently vetoed.
As you know, HB 805 protects women and children by defining biological sex in law, safeguarding girls on school trips, blocking taxpayer-funded gender transitions, empowering parents in schools, and ensuring justice for victims of harmful gender procedures.
Now, with the Governor’s veto in hand, we’re working to secure a veto override—and we need your help.
🎯 Update #1: Two Strategic Luncheons Â
To rally key voices in this effort, NC Values is hosting two FREE luncheons in the coming days for pastors, elected officials, human trafficking prevention advocates, and their spouses:
- Wilson Area: Parkers BBQ, Monday, July 21 @ 12pm
- Raeford Area: PK’s Grill & Pub, Tuesday, July 22 @ 12pm
Lunch is provided at no cost. If you know someone in these areas—especially a pastor or local leader—please invite them to attend to learn why HB 805 matters. These events are crucial to growing the coalition behind the veto override.
You can read more about the Wilson event here, and the Raeford event here. You can also email our Grassroots & Political Director, Isaac@ncvalues.org, if you have any additional questions.
📣 Update #2: Not Near Raeford or Wilson? You Can Still Help! Â
Even if you can’t attend a luncheon, you can still make a powerful difference. Use our click-to-contact tool to email your legislators and urge them to vote to override the veto of HB 805. It only takes 30 seconds.
