In this important election year, NC Values is urging Christians to voice their values at the ballot box. Education is a critical element dramatically affecting our culture today, and although we continue to pour more money into public education, a majority of our children are not proficient in basic reading and math. NC Values’ endorsed candidate Michele Morrow is running for State Superintendent of Public Instructionagainst radical leftist Mo Green who supports defunding the police and race-based school discipline, and who called the Parents Bill of Rights “a false narrative.”
The Superintendent of Public Instruction is a member of the Council of State and head of the NC Department of Public Instruction, overseeing public schools. NC Values endorsed candidate Michele Morrow for this position because of her Christian values and direct experience with education. Morrow served as a Spanish speaking Christian missionary in Mexico where three of her children were born. She spent four years teaching English and leading Bible Study during her mission. Morrow was also a foster parent and homeschool teacher for various subjects to senior level students. As a homeschool parent to five children and classroom teacher, she was tasked with exploring curriculums to meet the needs of different learners, which has given her a passion for ensuring every child is given opportunities despite their learning differences. Michele’s children have been educated in public, private and homeschool settings which gives her unique insight on how to approach problems and solutions for North Carolina public schools.
In contrast Mo Green, an administrative bureaucrat with no teaching experience, is endorsed by radical organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Equality NC, an LGBTQ advocacy organization that advocated against the Parents Bill of Rights and in favor of keeping pornography in schools. Mo Green also advocates for race-based school discipline policies in violent schools and decreasing school security officers. In fact, while Executive Director for the Z Smith Reynolds Foundation, a funding machine for liberal causes, Mo Green funded a grant to Southern Vision Alliance for a program to defund the police, an organization which also helped fund BLM riots.
Statistically, only 51% of Christians vote. We urge you to vote for Michele Morrow who will work to rid North Carolina schools of indoctrination and school pornography, so schools can focus on educating our children to become successful, well-educated adults who contribute to society in meaningful ways. A victory for Mo Green would mean more CRT, DEI, school violence, and indoctrination.
