Our recent Mama Bear Workshop was a great success! We’re grateful for all of you who could attend.
Mama Bear Workshops equip parents with the knowledge and tools to identify harmful content in public schools and advocate effectively for their children. These workshops provide a deep dive into the current cultural and legal challenges facing families, helping parents stand strong in defense of truth and common sense.
We opened with a heartfelt prayer by Dr. Ronald Gates, setting the tone for a day filled with empowering information. We were also blessed to have strong support from Moms for Liberty’s Buncombe County and Transylvania County chapters, demonstrating how committed parents are to protecting their children from harmful ideologies. It was also great getting to see in attendance Representative Jennifer Balkcom, and Catawba and Henderson county school board members.
The event was packed with valuable insights from our distinguished speakers. Joseph Backholm, NC Values’ Government Affairs Advisor, laid a strong foundation by providing a Christian worldview to help parents navigate today’s cultural challenges. Sarah Parshall Perry, Senior Legal Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, delivered an overview of executive orders and court cases that are shaping parental rights across the nation. Janet Peterson, Director of Operations for The Pavement Education Project, shared real-life examples of indoctrination infiltrating schools and online platforms. Finally, Tami Fitzgerald, Executive Director of NC Values, addressed how parents can fight school indoctrination, and discussed the most pressing state-level issues and legislation impacting families right here in North Carolina.
