Yesterday’s election was historic.
At the national level, middle working-class America made their voices clear at the ballot box, electing President Trump as our 47th President, and with him workable values-friendly Republican majorities in the US Senate and likely the House. North Carolina’s congressional showing was particularly strong, with conservatives winning 10 of our 14 congressional seats. The end of both the Kamala campaign and Biden administration are also things for us to celebrate. Kamala’s campaign was centered on advancing abortion, and her loss is a great repudiation of the politics of Planned Parenthood. Furthermore, with the close of the Biden administration comes the end of one of the greatest legal and institutional threats against our cherished values of life, family, and religious freedom.
In North Carolina, we’re happy to also share that the large majority of our endorsed candidates won their elections. The state also saw great judicial gains, with favorable victories in the Supreme Court race and all three Court of Appeals races. We congratulate all pro-values candidates who were victorious in their elections, and are grateful to all of our candidates for making the difficult decision to run for public office.
During elections, NC Values offers pro-values voters opportunities to benefit from our political and legal insights, cutting edge technology, and a vast network of clergy and citizens across the state to help individuals prayerfully select the best candidates who will honor life, family, and religious freedom. We then advance legislation that will support your values in the laws of our state, so that our culture reflects Biblical values that lead to human flourishing. The degree to how far we can advance legislation depends greatly on the caliber of conservative candidates we get into the General Assembly.
Therefore, in addition to making an impact legislatively, it is just as important we make an impact in our local, state, and federal elections. This year, our team worked overtime to put together and execute a number of strategies across the state to impact the election. From hosting get-out-the-vote letter writing campaigns in Iredell, Nash, Wilson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and Wake; to targeted text, email, and virtual communications that reached hundreds of thousands of our neighbors; to partnering with iVoterGuide and assembling our time-saving and voter-empowering election toolkit; and so much more, our team performed a tremendous amount of work to ensure you were equipped to vote wisely.
While the election is over, our work continues.
Whereas some organizations may take some time-off after the election, we’re already busy with our next family-empowering effort: our free Mama Bear workshop event at Cape Carteret Baptist Church next week on Wednesday November 13th. Our Mama Bear Workshops give an overview of the events and transparency issues that are currently in North Carolina Public Schools. They also teach Mama and Papa Bears how they can get involved in protecting children from harmful curriculum and indoctrination.
The results of the statewide election heighten the necessity of performing this type of accountability work. With the election of pro-abortion and pro-indoctrination candidates like Josh Stein, Jeff Jackson, and Mo Green to the offices of Governor, Attorney General, and Superintendent of Public Instruction, we cannot expect these officials to enforce our laws. And we can certainly not expect Stein to sign any bills into law that we would advance.
While voters still entrust the NC General Assembly by large margins to pro-values Republicans, the loss of the veto-proof super majority in the NC House by a single vote means it will be hard to pass pro-values legislation without Democrat support. Accordingly, events like Mama Bear workshops and the constancy of our coalition’s efforts are especially important.
In all, we find ourselves in familiar territory. We have been here before, and as an organization we have the mettle and experience to continue keeping elected officials and political institutions accountable to your values.
At the end of the day, it is not enough to just elect pro-values candidates and pass pro-values laws. We must also keep institutions such as school boards accountable to enforcing them. We surely can’t rely on Mo Green and Jeff Jackson; but we can rely on you.
Through this election, you’ve stood right by us as we’ve done everything in our power to advance your values. Whether it was through the financial gifts you gave, the grassroots time you dedicated, or the voice you lent and the votes you cast, we are incredibly grateful for your work and support. We couldn’t do it without you.
Thank you!
Finally, if you support our year-round work getting pro-values conservatives elected to office, and appreciate the cost that goes into providing voters our election tools, would you consider making a needed one-time or monthly donation towards this year’s election efforts?
Sincerely,
Tami & Team
